Pandora's Box

Pearls are masters of transcending turmoil into beauty. This gorgeous Black Tahitian Pearl set atop an intricate bell-shaped box, dangles from a luxe 14K Gold-Filled chain, reminding us of the beauty that comes from recognizing and honoring the wound that spurred our greatest gift. This necklace is a commemoration of the way we take that which has caused our greatest pain, our Pandora's Box, if you will, and morph it into what becomes our greatest gift. This is why healers most often come to their calling after enduring their own healing journey. Why someone who is bullied and put down may cultivate an incredible gift of empathy for others. Why a someone who is shamed for their appearance may embark upon a mission to empower others to live freely and fully in their own skins. This is why the Pearl sets atop the golden box: it shows the beauty that can arise through turmoil. 

Pearls are magical WATER Elements that represent deep faith and trust. Pearls are formed when a tiny irritant, like a grain of sand, gets inside the sensitive inners of a mollusk. The mollusk begins to wrap the grain of sand in a coat of hard, shiny, nacre. It wraps it over and over, until a Pearl, so beautiful, and truly one of its kind, is made. This is the impetus behind my "In a Grain of Sand" Collection: a visual reminder of how something that begins as an irritant, can, with time and care, can turn into something incomparably exquisite. This is why, for me, Pearls are the quintessential symbol of Faith and Trust. We may only feel the pain at first. But in time, with patience and kindness, that pain may be transmuted into a thing of great beauty in this world.
