In a Grain of Sand
Pearls are formed when a tiny irritant, like a grain of sand, gets inside the sensitive inners of a mollusk. Trying to protect itself from the pain, the mollusk begins to wrap the grain of sand in a coat of hard, shiny, nacre. It wraps it over and over, until a beautiful and wholly unique Pearl is made. This is the power of Pearl Medicine: a visual reminder of how something that begins as an irritant, can, with time and care, can turn into something incomparably exquisite.
