Life can be see as a tug of war, or it can be seen as a dance. This was the inspiration behind this cascading asymmetrical necklace, set in oxidized Sterling Silver with rare Olive Potato Pearls and a Balinese-inspired center. 

Pearls are magical WATER Elements that represent deep faith and trust. Pearls are formed when a tiny irritant, like a grain of sand, gets inside the sensitive inners of a mollusk. The mollusk begins to wrap the grain of sand in a coat of hard, shiny, nacre. It wraps it over and over, until a Pearl, so beautiful, and truly one of its kind, is made. This is the impetus behind my "In a Grain of Sand" Collection: a visual reminder of how something that begins as an irritant, can, with time and care, can turn into something incomparably exquisite. This is why, for me, Pearls are the quintessential symbol of Faith and Trust. We may only feel the pain at first. But in time, with patience and kindness, that pain may be transmuted into a thing of great beauty in this world.
